With our Less Waste product line, we would like to do our part to reduce plastic waste on the planet. Of course, there is always potential for optimizing a concept. You can find out why we decided to use the current packaging variants here.

Why are the Less Waste bottles made of plastic?
Finding the right packaging for Less Waste bottles was not easy for us. At first, we all preferred glass bottles. However, glass has the drawback that it can break. Shards in the bath or in the shower pose a serious risk. Moreover, manufacturing glass consumes a very large amount of energy, so it is not entirely resource-friendly. That’s why we decided to use a bottle made of rPET (recycled PET). This means that no new plastic is produced and only plastic from old products is recycled. Our Less Waste bottle, for example, is made of recycled water or cosmetics bottles. When it comes to preventing waste, recycling is a very valuable, innovative step. Unfortunately, for the time being, the use of rPET is restricted only to bottles and not to caps. The technical means for this do not exist yet. However, we are continuously working on optimizing our packaging based on the latest research findings.
Why are Less Waste concentrates packed in plastic foil?
For us as a manufacturer, the safety and quality of our product is paramount. Packaging still has an important protective function for the cosmetic product, which we test in advance over a prolonged period of time. As much as we’d like to use paper packaging, unfortunately, the product’s storage life is not sufficient for this. This is why we have decided to use a thin plastic foil, which forgoes the use of an aluminum compound. As a result, this monomaterial can be easily allocated to the recovery process and also has a good chance of being recycled.
