Patchouli
Patchouli, botanically known as Pogostemon cablin, originated in the tropical regions of Asia and is used today in medicinal, cosmetic and spiritual areas. While in the past patchouli was mainly valued for its healing properties, it has now also found its place in the world of fragrances. The fascinating history of this plant ranges from its beginnings in traditional medicine to its role as a symbol of free spirits during the hippie era. Today, patchouli is not only a fragrance, but also a reminder of times gone by and a tool to remind us to naturally balance body and mind.
Patchouli essential oil for relaxation
The herbaceous patchouli plant is characterised by its large, furry leaves, from which the characteristic patchouli essential oil is extracted after drying. The scent of this essential oil is unmistakably earthy and balsamic-sweet - a nuance that many find sensual and calming. Traditionally, the fragrance oil is used as a natural support for stress and tension.
