Hot tips for winter
Care rituals for the cold season
Winter not only brings cool temperatures, but also special challenges for our skin. Cold air outside and dry heating air inside can strain the skin and make it appear pale, dry or irritated. This makes it all the more important to establish a well-coordinated care routine and beauty rituals in the cold season that optimally protects and cares for the skin and is also good for body and soul.

1. Tip: Protect your skin
Freezing cold outside, overheated and dry inside - winter is a tough time for our skin. No wonder it quickly shows its chapped side. And if there's a scratchy woollen jumper on top of it, some people might want to jump out of their skin. Don't let it get that far. Take care of your skin with moisturising creams, for example with our body care products. Ensure sufficient humidity in your living space, for example by setting up water bowls or hanging up damp cloths. And above all: drink at least 1.5 litres a day, even in winter.
2. Tip: Bring the sun into your heart
Winter is the dark season. And by that we don't just mean that the sun rarely makes an appearance. Many a mood darkens and depressive moods spread. Fragrances are a wonderful way to combat this - as natural mood boosters, so to speak. Take a bath in one of our mood-lifting bath additives, for example, and you'll see: The stimulating fragrances make the sun rise.

3. Tip: really work up a sweat
When everyone is sniffling and coughing in winter, the body's defences are in constant use. It pays off if you have strengthened them well beforehand with regular sauna sessions. Saunas train the blood vessels and the cardiovascular system. The heat speeds up the metabolism and the resulting waste products are sweated out. We recommend our wonderfully fragrant sauna infusions so that the sauna session is not only good for your body but also for your senses.
4. Face mask
While you relax in the bath, you can use the time to apply a nourishing face mask. The warmth of the bath opens the pores and the skin absorbs moisturising substances from the mask particularly well.

5.Tip: hibernate in winter
Don't worry, you don't have to crawl into a cave like a bear for months and sleep through the winter. But the fact is that getting enough sleep is good for your health. And as the body likes to signal that it is tired during the darker months of the year anyway, you should give in to this impulse more often. Make yourself comfortable, ensure a pleasant temperature and sufficient humidity in your bedroom and have a good night's sleep. Incidentally, this works even better if you relax beforehand with a massage using our soothing body oils.
After sport?
Exercise keeps us healthy and fit. Just as important as the right warm-up before exercise is the right treatment after physical activity to prevent unpleasant muscle soreness.
- There is still no scientific consensus on the cause of muscle soreness. Whether it is due to over-acidification of the muscles or small tears in the muscle fibres, measures to promote blood circulation after sport are always helpful.
- A sauna session also has this beneficial effect after sport and stimulates blood flow to the skin.
